Using Josys MCP with Claude

This page describes the steps to use Josys MCP with Claude.

Prerequisites

To use Josys MCP from Claude Desktop, you need the following:

  • Claude Desktop
  • Node.js version 20 or higher
  • Josys Super Admin privileges
  • Access token for Josys MCP

About Node.js

Node.js is used to connect Claude Desktop to Josys MCP.
If Node.js is not installed, please install it beforehand.

Steps

  1. Log in to Josys.
  2. Click "Settings" > "Developer" in the bottom left of Josys.
  3. Click "+ Create" in the top right.
  4. When the pop-up appears, select "Access Token (for Josys MCP)".
    We recommend using a unique label that helps identify who is using it and where.
  5. Once created, the token will be displayed. Please copy and save it. Note that it will not be displayed again once you close the page.
  6. Launch Claude Desktop. 
  7. Open [Settings]. 
  8. Click [Developer] > [Edit Config].
  9. File Explorer will open with claude_desktop_config.json selected. Open this file.
  10. Scroll to the bottom and update it as follows.

How to Update

  1. Delete the closing brace "}" at the very end of the file.
  2. Copy the following code, replace PASTE_YOUR_ACCESS_TOKEN_HERE with the token you obtained earlier, paste it at the end of the file, save, and close the file.

Actually Using It with Claude

  1. Close Claude and launch it again.
  2. Once the chat opens, ask your question.
    Claude may ask for permission to access the MCP server. Please grant permission when prompted.

Important Notes

With Josys MCP, you can not only retrieve information but also create, update, and delete supported data. If you are using it for the first time, please first verify the connection using read-only operations.

When updating or deleting data, please carefully verify the target data and the actions to be executed before proceeding with the operation.
