Josys has introduced a new Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) feature that enables setting different permissions for both Super Admins and IT Admin users.
Role-based Access Control (RBAC) for Tracked Apps
Earlier, IT Admins had access to all Tracked Apps. Now, Tracked Apps can be accessed only based on the access rights. The permission can be set as follows:
Step 1: Navigate to the Settings menu on the left and select the User Permissions.
Step 2: From this screen, you can set the access rights to provide full access/view-only access/no access to the admin role.
Doing so,
-
Super Admins: Gains full control over all tracked apps, which means they can view and perform the associated actions from the Tracked Apps tab under the Managed Apps.
-
IT Admins: Role-based control ensures that the IT Admin can only access based on the rights assigned.
- Tracked Apps will not be visible to IT Admins without access.
- IT Admins will also be restricted from performing any app-level actions such as Edit, Deactivate, Delete, Add, Import, or Export.
Role-based Access Control (RBAC) for Scheduled Tasks
Super Admin will be able to view all scheduled tasks, whereas the IT Admin can view only the tasks created by them. The Scheduled Task can be accessed from the Scheduled Tasks under Utilities.
Role-based Access Control (RBAC) for Side Navigation Bar
To ensure limited permissions to the admin operations through the Josys application, the IT Admins who do not have permission to Integrated Apps will not be able to access the following navigation sections:
Access (Apps)
Security (Apps)
Licenses (Apps)
Integration (Utilities)
Doing so,
Super Admins: Gains full access to all navigation menus.
IT Admins: Gains access to navigation menus based on their access.
Role-based Access Control (RBAC) for Integrated Apps
The permission can be set for the Integrated Apps to limit the IT Admin to what level of functionality they can use.
The permission can be set as follows:
Step 1: Navigate to the Settings menu on the left and select the User Permissions.
Step 2: From this screen, you can set the access rights to provide no access/full access/full access for assigned apps only/view-only access for all apps/view-only access for assigned apps only
